This is fun

These sessions are for children starting school the following September. The sessions are more structured. The children are encouraged to find their own name on chairs that are positioned in a circle. A registration takes place; this helps the children to recognise their own name. Children in turn are asked to talk about anything they have done or are going to do.

activities

Outdoor play is mainly based on games.

The pre-school has strong links with the local school, Scargill (C of E) Primary.

Regular meetings are held with the staff from the school. The Head Teacher and the Reception teachers visit our sessions to meet the children. Towards the end of the term year the Peer Groups are taken for a visit, one afternoon to see the classrooms and meet the Reception Teachers.

Scargill School reception teachers run pre-shool library in their class on a Tuesday 3:00 - 3:30. It is an extremely good idea and if you have time to take your child it gives them the chance to meet the teachers and to see the school they are going to attend in Septembder.

If you wish to send your child to Scargill School, please remember to register your child. If you wish to contact the school, the staff will be happy to help.
