Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED)

The purpose of an inspection is to identify strengths and weaknesses so that the providers can improve the quality of educational provision and help children to achieve the Early Learning Goals for children that are entering compulsory education (i.e. by the age of 5). Another purpose is to assure parents and the public that pre-school education funded by the state (voucher money) is of an acceptable quality.

role play

The Pre-School’s last inspection was successful and it was reported that:

“West Hallam Village Pre-School provides a colourful, welcoming and stimulating environment for children’s learning. All children are likely to achieve the early learning goals by the time they are five years old. The educational programme promotes the early learning goals in all areas of the curriculum”.

A full report of the inspection is available.
